Behind The Image Story
I put my kit together in hopes to
explore the Las Vegas strip in search if some unique images.
Luck must have been on my side. After about an hour of walking
I found myself outside the New York, New York. I struggled to find
an angle which would seem fresh. After about 30 minutes I put
on a polarized filter and fired away. A little work in Photoshop
and out came this incredible image.

Las Vegas Sky I
Behind The Image Story
I found myself in a not so great
part of town. You could tell by where I was standing that
the years had taken its toll on the local area. As the Las
Vegas Strip developed, it seems as though the area in which I had
planted my feet for this photo had been forgotten. Yet it
offered a perfect location to get my shot.
The time was close to 7 pm and the
night sky had rolled in with fluffy clouds, carrying what seemed
to be a slight darkness to them, perhaps even rain. I realized I had not the time to
set up my tripod as the lighting was perfect at that very
moment. I grabbed my CANON and fired away. I was very
excited to get this in print. The next morning I was having
my first 11 x 14 print made of this image. Incredible !

Las Vegas Tower I
Behind The Image Story
As always traveling with camera in
hand, I was walking the Las Vegas Strip Area with my visiting
parents. One of the many things I wanted them to see was the
beautiful fountain show at the Bellagio. We positioned
ourselves to get a great view of the show. I began too focus
my camera on the fountain. As I looked through my lens, I
saw an incredible shot. Not waiting another moment I began
to fire my CANON. This image was captured just minutes
before the fountains began to operate. Sometimes the shot
you plan for is not the shot you find! This was a truly
amazing day.

Las Vegas Tower II
Behind The Image Story
One morning I found myself awake
reviewing my photos in my mind. I went through my day with
the thought of creating this image into a incredible black and
white. As my day progressed the thought of doing such became
more of a compulsion. I finally gave in to my desires and
located my self in my office. I pulled the image and began
to work. Although my intention was to make a black and white I
began to experiment with layers. My beautiful wife had
poked her head in to check on me, as sometimes I can be lost in
there for days. She saw the image and complimented me on
it. My wife has seen many of images of which I have
captured, but very few has she made a comment on. I thought
to myself perhaps she sees something other then what I do.
At that moment I decided that a spot color image would be the
result. I flattened the layers and finalized the
image. Admitting that my beautiful wife "was right
again".

The evening began to arrive and I
packed my gear. I headed to Hoover Dam for the day with a
fellow photographer. I walked for sometime trying to find
the right location to shot from. Although my feet were
aching I continued until I found this image within my view
finder. After a long open shutter exposure, this images was
captured.

Lancaster PA Locomotive Yard

My Beautiful wife and I found
ourselves traveling throughout Lancaster County, PA. We saw
smoke from a distance. My curiosity got the best of me.
Upon arriving to the location we discovered old steam locomotives,
which are fully functional. I grabbed my CANON and got as low
as I could on the tracks to capture this image.

Our travels took us through
Colorado. As the evening grew late, I decided to stop
driving. In the darkness we pulled off the highway and
followed the signs to a Best Western Hotel. As we rested I
heard a soft tapping on the window. I awoke to discover large
snow flurries and an incredible lake out the window. I quickly
woke my wife and grabbed my CANON and ran out the door and ran down
to the lake area.

Arizona Tracks
Behind The Image Story
During a road trip with a fellow
photographer we where traveling back to Las Vegas from a city in
Arizona. We found ourselves driving down a long and lonely
stretch of road with the only friend to it, this set of railroad
tracks running along side. I had to jump out and get an
image!
